Established in 1984 Orchid Designs is well renowned, not only locally but further a field with brides travelling from London and even Italy to have their dream dress designed and made to order. Liz founded the business over 25 years ago and now has the addition of her daughter Laura to the company.
We will do our upmost to create that special dress whether it is classic, contemporary or unusual. We can work from pictures, ideas, sketches and incorporate hand beading, hand painting and embroidery. We hold a large selection of fabric for you to choose from including rare silks & vintage lace to help to create the one off original of your dreams.
Not only do we design and make to order but we have a large range of dresses from designers such as Ronald Joyce, Ellis & Romantica. With bridesmaids by Kelsey Rose, Linzi Jay, Romantica & Dessy. We also offer the design and made to order service for children making small versions of the adults dresses. For that special little bridesmaid we have even made a miniature of the brides dress.
All alterations are carried out on the premises by our skilled tailoresses and fittings take place in our large private fitting room so that privacy and confidentiality are assured at all times.
Also on offer are a full range of accessories including tiaras, headdresses, veils, feather fascinators and a large range of shoes & handbags from Meadows, Katz and Pure & Precious, these can all be dyed to match. We also offer exclusive service of matching dolly bags. Not forgetting the men we offer ties, handkerchiefs, cravats and waistcoats in the same fabric as your bridesmaids
